Supreme Patriarch Kim Do-yong Daejongsa is the 3rd Jongjeongyeha of Tiantai Buddhism.

He has continued to practice asceticism of sitting for a long time, not lying (長坐不臥) until now from being a Buddhist monk by making Supreme Patriarch Nam Dae-chung Daejongsa his teach when he was 34 years old on February 1977.

Supreme Patriarch Kim Do-yong Daejongsa is the 3rd Jongjeongyeha of Tiantai Buddhism.

Supreme Patriarch Kim Do-yong Daejongsa's common name is Yeongchun (永春) and his Buddhist name is Doyong (道勇).
He was born in Geumeum-dong, Pyeonghae-myeon, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, on October 1, 1943.

He has continued to practice asceticism of sitting for a long time, not lying (長坐不臥) until now from being a Buddhist monk by making Supreme Patriarch Nam Dae-chung Daejongsa his teacher when he was 34 years old on February 1977.

Supreme Patriarch Nam Dae-chung Daejongsa entrusted Supreme Patriarch Kim Do-yong Daejongsa with a career in farming. Supreme Patriarch Kim Do-yong Daejongsa managed a farm of 3.3 ha on a sound basis, took care of cattle, and worked hard. He devoted himself bravely staying up all night even after finishing the hard farming work.

Ten years passed since he had silently practiced asceticism in inconspicuous places. However, there were few persons who recognized the supreme patriarch's excellent asceticism because he lived in isolated place from the public.

Monk Do-yong who had raised cattle unanimously became the 3rd leader of Tiantai Buddhism after Supreme Patriarch Nam Dae-chung Daejongsa entered Nirvana in 1993.

This completely proves living and Buddhism that are not two and Supreme Patriarch Sangwol Wongak's teachings that workplace is the field that creates good fortunes(福田) to plant and raise aspiration for Buddhahood (菩提心).Kim Do-yong Jongjeongyeha is the object of respect and best teacher to ascetics. Jongjeongyeha advises important things of the religious group by respecting will of Supreme Patriarch Sangwol Wongak and Supreme Patriarch Nam Dae-chung Daejongsa and enlightens his followers and believers about not losing their duty of asceticism.

Kim Do-yong Jongjeongyeha is the great monk who has led the present of Tiantai Buddhism and provides direction of the future.
